Tools and Tricks to Transform Learning

During this course I introduced Academic Curation and several tools to help practicing teachers incorporate technology to enhance student learning.
What Is Educational Curation?Educational curation is the art and science of weaving social, cognitive,

and expert interactions to intentionally build dynamic, inquiry based

educational experiences with content that is selected, created, and

digitally presented.

  • Steps for Curating Educational Experiences

    Cognitive Interactions:
    Create Learning Experience

    1. What applications will I use to collect and label content or subject matter?
    2. What questions will I use to evaluate and filter selected content?

    Expert Interactions:
    Conceptualize and Design Lesson

    1. What pedagogical interactions will I use?
      (Monological, Dialogical, Polyphonic)
    2. What platform (application) will I use to curate content?
    3. What interactions will I create to infuse additional perspectives to refine student learning?

    Social Interactions:
    Participation and Collaboration

    1. How will I establish an effective learning environment?
    2. Are there specific strategies I will use to create cognitive dissonance?

    Publish for Learning:
    Migrate and Share

    1. When will I choose to migrate the content to the platform?
    2. What type of accessibility will there be for multiple interactions?
    3. What applications will I use to preserve the educational curation for continuous retrieval?
